Nikolas's first marathon is this Saturday! As he began his marathon week, he was lucky enough to meet elite runner Vicki Huber, 2x Olympian, 8x NCAA champion. Nikolas is with her here while holding his trophy he earned at the Delaware Open Cross Country Championships this weekend. Such an exciting way to start the week-long countdown! Happy first snow! Did you see it? Nikolas says, "The only thing better than catching falling leaves while running is catching snowflakes on your tongue while running!"
Thankful for your support—from generous donations, to loyal cheers of encouragement! Thank you so much for being a part of Nikolas's amazing journey. Pictured here is Nikolas with his grandfather, founder of Operation Warm. Nikolas presented him with a "check" in the amount of $1,219, which reflects the amount of money that has been raised to date as a result of Nikolas's campaign, Running the World for Children. Included is $125 of Nikolas's own money—his first place prize from a running series he completed this year! Happy Thanksgiving! Nikolas with DLN Features Writer, Chelsea Reyher This afternoon, Nikolas had his very first newspaper interview! Daily Local News Features Writer Chelsea Reyher came for a visit and asked him lots of questions about his running and Operation Warm. Nikolas described the experience as "awesome". We are greatly anticipating the article in the DLN People section, scheduled for publication on November 29! It was nice to meet you, Chelsea! Nikolas had his first official video interview today at Operation Warm! He's pictured here with Paul Daigle, Director of Development Initiatives and Nikolas's interviewer. Though he was a little nervous, Nikolas did a great job! Everyone at Operation Warm made him feel very welcome and comfortable. Special thanks to Paul, Amy, and Jackie! We will post the video as soon as it is ready. Siobain Perkins was the 100th like on NIkolas's Facebook page! Nikolas was so happy to reach this milestone that he wanted to give the 100th person a special gift—his sister's first published book, The Thirst Inside. Pictured here is Nikolas with his sister, Thea (the author, left), and Mrs. Perkins, who was both Thea's and Nikolas's awesome third grade teacher. Thanks for liking Nik Runs the World, and please share with your friends! As the marathon approaches, Nikolas has been asked more questions about his running. One of our favorite quotes to date came from the question, "Nikolas, when you start to get tired, what motivates you to keep going?" Nikolas's answer was: "I don’t seem to get tired—except there was that one time, and a donut saved me."
